The growingperiod for a jalapeño plant is 70–80 days. Whenmature, the plant stands two and a half to threefeet tall. Typically, a single plant will producetwenty five to thirty five pods. During a growingperiod, a plant will be picked multiple times. Asthe growing season comes to an end, the jalapeñosstart to turn red.Once picked, individual peppers ripen to red oftheir own accord. The peppers can be eaten green orred.Start seeds indoors 8 weeks before last frost. Keep soil barely moist. Wet soil will kill peppers. 80 degrees is ideal, but anywhere from 70 to 90 degrees will work fine.These will germinate very easy...I have a very high germination rate each year.....85 days. Open pollinated. Full sun.
