I'm japanese. This one is authentic. Some shichimi is not spicy at all. But this product is spicy. I recommend this.It is hard to tell from weight, 0.63 oz, what the actual volume will turn out to be. In this case, less than I anticipated. Glad I bought two.I use it on EVERYTHING !I was relieved to find that the country of origin is indeed Japan (couldn’t tell from the photo.)Love the flavor it imparts.The flavor is subtle and the pepper is just right for so many applications. Definitely my favorite on eggs.Beautiful flavor, not too spicy, unfortunately way too expensive.I use it on everything, fish, meat, vegetables... Can't live without it!Got this after a recommendation to go with my lotus root. It was just--okay. Not amazing. I have had better seasoning/spice mixes.Love this stuff. Make sure fried rice taste just like restaurant fried rice
